This game was a matchup of Varsity vs Junior Varsity. The Blue Jackets had a lineup of mostly A.H.L call ups and Johnny Gaudreau. The final score was indicative of this. The Rangers dominated throughout, playing more of a pond hockey game, trying fancy passes, passing up shots to make a tic tac toe type play, but still focused enough on defense to give Igor his 37 win and third shutout of the season. Jimmy Vesey scored the opening goal on a great play by Barclay Goodrow to keep the puck in the O zone and Motte made a perfect pass to Vesey for the goal. It was Vesey’s 501 career games.
